Installation Guide

  1. Upload

    Upload entire .zip file contents to your webhost.


  2. Set Permissions

    Set the permissions of the following folders to 777 (read, write, and execute for user, group and other).
    • inc
    • gallery/avatar
    • gallery/photos
    • gallery/upimages

  3. Run the Install script

    Go to http://www.yoursite.com/fcms/install.php, where yoursite.com is your domain and fcms is the directory where you installed Family Connections, and fill out the information described below.

    Database Host - the address where your MySQL database is setup, typically localhost. This is provided by your web host provider.

    Database Name - the name of your MySQL database. This is provided by your web host provider.

    Database Username - the username of a user who has access to the MySQL database. This is provided by your web host provider.

    Database Password - the password of the user above. This is provided by your web host provider.

    Website Name - the title of your website.

    Contact Email - the email address you want all notifications of new users and questions about the site to be sent to.

    Sections - the various sections of Family Connections you want your site to make use of. Family News and Prayer Concerns are the only two optional sections.

    Username - the username of the account that will be used to make administrative changes to the site.

    Password - the password of the account above.

    First Name - the first name of the adminstrator.

    Last Name - the last name of the administrator.

    Email Address - the email address of the administrator. Can be the same or different from the contact email address.

    Birthday - the birthday of the administrator. Will be added to the Calendar.

    Street Address - the street address of the administrator. Will be added to the Address Book.

    City/Town - the city or town of the administrator.

    State/Province - the state or province of the administrator.

    Zip/Postal Code - the zip or postal code of the administrator.

    Home Phone - the home phone number of the administrator.

    Work Phone - the work phone number of the administrator.

    Mobile Phone - the mobile phone number of the administrator.


  4. Delete Install Script

    Delete the install.php file from your webserver for security purposes.
